Pittsburgh Voted 10th Best Walking City by Prevention Magazine
Quote: Whether your hoofing for fitness, or to help the environment, here are the [25] most walker friendly locales in America and what makes them special, based on our annual survey with the Podiatric Medical Association and Sperling's Best Places. Prevention's website lists San Francisco as No. 1 with Tuscon, Arizona, as No. 25. At Number 10 we beat Columbus, Baltimore, San Diego and New Orleans, to name a few. We made the cut due to our addition of a new post in our city government--a Bicycle/Pedestrian Coordinator. Click on the pic of our city at the Prevention site and you are invited to upload a photo of your favorite walking spot. For more green 411 including where to take your cleared-out clutter, visit About Pittsburgh.

Here we present an anthology of the latest news on the greening of the 'burgh; much of it from our friends at Pop City Media, Global Pittsburgh, and the Pittsburgh Business Times. It would seem despite last year's 250th anniversary, Pittsburgh's not getting older, it's getting greener!
